Tsavo East Safari

Two days among the red elephants of Kenya’s largest national park

Arranged with Dreaming Kenya No payment to request Personal reply from TAWI Planned around your stay Private transfers on request

Into the wild, and back by the pool

Tsavo East is one of the largest national parks in Kenya and the closest big safari park to Watamu. Its elephants are famous for the red dust they cover themselves in, and its wide plains, the Galana River and the old lava flows make for dramatic game drives.

You leave after an early breakfast, reach the park in around three hours and spend the afternoon on a game drive. The night is spent in the bush with full board, and the second day begins with a dawn drive, when the light is best and the animals most active, before the road back to the coast.

This is the safari included in our Watamu Full Experience packages. Prefer your own vehicle and guide? Ask for the private option, or see our custom safari trips.

What guests say

The location is perfect — close to everything but so peaceful. The owner helped us plan our safari and even joined us for a sunset drink on the rooftop!

Feels like home, but better. The service, the food, the comfort — everything was just perfect. We’ll be back.

We loved the excursions arranged through Dreaming Kenya. It was all so smooth. And having the beach just across the road — amazing!
